Rochelle School

New office space in Grade II listed school building.


Rochelle School comprises three Victorian buildings built in the 1880's. Within the main Grade II listed building, classrooms have been converted to workplace studios to accommodate artists and creative industries.

GLOSTER was tasked with providing mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) services to new office space for Frieze, organisers of Frieze Art Fair and publishers of Frieze magazine.

Scope of services

Mechanical installation: new comfort cooling system including upgrades to the existing heating system.

Electrical installation: new lighting, emergency lighting, underfloor power, fire alarm, lightning protection and sub-mains supply.

Public health services: upgrade to the existing rainwater services.


The new open-plan office space, designed by Quinn Architects, accommodates workspace for 30 or more people, with further meeting rooms, kitchen and library. The office is located in the second-floor roof extension, which was built within walls that previously enclosed a rooftop playground.

The MEP services help to provide a high-quality, energy-efficient environment that is a popular working space with end-users.

The project was delivered on time and within budget.
