GLOSTER MEP services installation to European Headquarters building

Brief

Chartis is a world leading insurance organisation. GLOSTER was tasked with installing mechanical and electrical services to its new 50,000 sq ft regional European Headquarters at 150 Cheapside, London.

Scope of works

Mechanical installation: new fan-coil units, close control air conditioning, leak detection, gas detection and fire suppression, sprinkler systems, building management system and domestic mechanical pipework.
Electrical installation: LV power, LV switch panel, lighting and lighting controls, small power, UPS, fire alarm, comms room.

Solution

The category B fit-out of levels 5 and 6 included cellular offices, open plan workstations, break-out spaces, a staff lounge and a conference suite overlooking St Paul's Cathedral.

Mechanical and electrical installation work was required to accommodate the new layout. This included new standalone mechanical cooling to the comms rooms located on each floor; an underfloor busbar installation with Rotosoc power outlets and floorboxes; modifications to the modular wiring system; and the installation of luminaires.

On both floors the comms room and hub were fitted out with UPS and an input/output panel, together with modifications to the basebuild LV switchpanel.

The new services have helped to create a comfortable and energy-efficient environment.
